Loreto Toorak Rowing Season Launch: A Day of Celebration and Tradition
On a beautiful Saturday morning, the Loreto Toorak Rowing community proudly gathered to officially launch the 2024/2025 rowing season. This much-anticipated event was a celebration of our rowing tradition, student achievements, and the promising season ahead.
The morning featured the formal announcement of the Year 12 Blazer Squad for 2025, including the introduction of our Rowing Captains. These students, recognised for their leadership and dedication, embody the values and commitment at the heart of Loreto Toorak’s rowing program.
Loreto Toorak Sports Medallions were presented to students who have shown exceptional dedication and outstanding performance as part of the rowing squad. Special recognition was also given to the Ward Crew for their remarkable victory at the 2023/2024 Head of the Schoolgirls’ Regatta. In honour of this achievement, an oar was presented as a symbol of their success.
The ceremony concluded with the blessing of two new boats, the LT100 and Champions 2024, marking an important milestone for the rowing community. In keeping with tradition, the boats were christened with the ceremonial breaking of champagne over the bow, signifying our hopes for success in the coming season.
We extend our best wishes to our rowers for the upcoming season and look forward to witnessing their continued growth and enjoyment on the water. With such a strong beginning, we are confident that the 2024/2025 season will be filled with both success and memorable moments.
