Our highly acclaimed Visual Arts curriculum challenges our students by engaging them in a range of creative and innovative art-making experiences.

All students study Art in Year 7, and in Year 8 they may choose to study either Art or Visual Communication Design for a semester or both for the year.

In Year 9, students can choose between three Visual Arts subjects: Art Creative Practice (Multi Artforms), Media, and Visual Communication Design. In Year 10, the electives are expanded to include Art Making and Exhibiting (Photography). We offer four VCE Visual Arts subjects: Art Creative Practice, Art Making and Exhibiting, Media, and Visual Communication Design.

Our Visual Arts program is extremely popular, with approximately 50% of students selecting a Visual Arts subject as part of their VCE. The consistently outstanding results, along with the annual awards and prizes received by our art students, are testament to the quality of programs offered.

Students can develop skills in a diverse range of media including drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, photography, digital imaging, film and television, audio and print production and graphic design. Professional training is provided by highly experienced teachers. The department is made up of practicing artists, industry professionals, and curriculum leaders.
