2022 Computational and Algorithmic Thinking (CAT) Competition
Maths Club at Loreto Toorak was born out of the idea that students who enjoy learning Mathematical concepts would have an outlet to showcase their skills. It is open to all students Years 7-12, with the aim to further extend their mathematical problem-solving skills. The Club meets several times each term so that members can train their brains and practise abstract problems and concepts.
Maths Club members also enter various Australian Mathematical Competitions throughout the year. The Computational and Algorithmic Thinking (CAT) Competition took place in Term 2, 2022. The challenging Mathematical competition encourages student curiosity, promotes multiple modes of thinking, and requires a strong sense of reasoning and logic. A great number of our Years 7-9 students achieved a Distinction or High Distinction result.
