Happy International Day of the Girl!
This year we commemorate the 10th anniversary of this special day. The world's 600 million adolescent girls have shown time and time again that given the skills and the opportunities, they can be the change-makers driving progress in their communities.
We throwback to the beautiful Loreto Anthem that was written and composed by two Loreto Secondary School, Kilkenny (Ireland) students for the bicentenary of the foundation of Mary Ward’s Institute in Ireland. The anthem was performed with the Loreto Kilkenny Orchestra and Choir, and included contributions from Loreto Schools around the world, including Loreto Toorak.
Síofra, one of the composers of “SHE”, shared about paying tribute to Frances Teresa Ball and the work she did, providing education and opportunities for young women. “Even though education is something we all take for granted every day, it’s invaluable and should be celebrated. We are provided with opportunities, independence, and liberty through education.”
