This year, Girls’ Sport Victoria (GSV) commences a pilot program for Years 5-6 students. Similar to the program currently available for Years 7-12, a selection of sports will be available to our Years 5 and 6 students, who will compete against other participating independent girls’ schools in Victoria.
Participation in GSV is one of the many opportunities that our Year 6 students look forward to as they transition from Rathfarnham to the Clendon Precinct. Last year, as a prelude to the GSV pilot program, our senior Rathfarnham students took part in several sports activities on land and in water.
“In Year 7 I am looking forward to GSV! I love sports so it will be an AMAZING opportunity for me. I can’t wait to play other schools doing the sports I love and to have the chance the make new friends.” - Scarlett (6 Blue, 2022)
“In Year 7, I’m really looking forward to GSV. You can do any sport you like through the terms and train in the mornings before school. You play games against other schools, and it is a great opportunity to meet to people and make new friends.” - Stella (6 White, 2022)
“Something I am looking forward to in Year 7 is GSV. I am really excited to play sports that I have never properly played before, and to compete with other girls in my year as well as meeting new people from different schools.” - Grace (6 White, 2022)
Loreto Toorak’s involvement in the GSV pilot program adds to the abundance of opportunities available to our Rathfarnham students, including district sports through School Sports Victoria (SSV).
The pilot program commences today with the Year 5 and 6 Cross-Country Carnival.
