A Sweet Success: Rathfarnham Students Celebrate First Honey Harvest

Our Rathfarnham students kicked off the week with a buzz of excitement as they celebrated the very first honey harvest from the Loreto Toorak bee hives! Thanks to the tireless work of our European honeybees, led by Queens Blossom and Kin Kin, over 20 kilograms of golden honey was collected.

Each jar will soon feature a unique label designed by our talented Year 9 students as part of their Visual Communication Design elective. This project beautifully combines sustainability with creativity, highlighting the students’ artistic skills while celebrating an incredible environmental initiative. This honey harvest marks an exciting step in our school’s commitment to sustainability, offering students a hands-on learning experience that fosters appreciation for nature and conservation.
