As Anika reflects on her education at Loreto Toorak, she cannot help but feel a deep sense of gratitude and fondness for her time there. The education and experiences she gained at Loreto have had a significant impact on many aspects of her life.
After graduating from Loreto, Anika was accepted into the Victorian College of the Arts, where she studied fine art majoring in sculpture. Having loved every moment of her time at art school, Anika knew that she was not quite ready to become a full-time artist. It was then that she discovered her passion for photography, which eventually led her to pursue her career in styling.
Throughout her journey as a stylist, Anika has had the privilege of working with clients from all over the world. Her business has evolved over time, and Anika now works virtually with clients while also styling runways and fashion workshops. One of the highlights of her career was styling and producing the Melbourne Fashion Week runways for Collins Place. Anika has also had the honour of being selected as a finalist for the AusPost Pitchfest for her startup ‘Style Squad,’ an online styling platform that provides women with weekly education and guidance for everyday style.
In addition to Anika’s professional achievements, her personal life is filled with joy and happiness. A mother to three wonderful children, she spends much of her spare time running them to sports and activities. Anika considered herself also to have been blessed with an amazing group of friends, many of whom are fellow Loreto girls. They have filled her life with love, laughter, and inspiration, and she feels grateful for their presence in her life.
Looking back on her time at Loreto Toorak, Anika realises how much it has helped shaped who she is today. The experience provided Anika with a solid foundation for future endeavours. However, it was not just the academics that made Loreto so special. It was the sense of community, the friendships, and the opportunities for personal growth and development that truly set Loreto apart.
To give advice to current students or her younger self, Anika would tell them to follow their instincts and explore all of their options when it comes to deciding what to do after school. Encourage them to take advantage of every opportunity and say yes to things. Believe that figuring out who you are and what you are passionate about comes from a process of elimination, and it takes hard work and perseverance.
Feeling forever grateful for the education, experiences, and friendships Anika gained during her time at Loreto, she will always cherish the memories she has of this special place.
